The Iron Bowl is Alabama's unofficial State Football Game. The first was played in November 1893, with Auburn emerging victorious. It was only played in Montgomery twice. The game soon became a tradition until 1908, when disputes between the two schools put the game on hold. The Iron Bowl resumed with much fanfare on November 1948. Today it is one of the oldest rivalries in all of college football and one of the most popular games of the SEC's regular season. When the Tide and Tigers met lasy year, The Era of Saban began, seving Auburn its greatest Iron Bowl loss to date. Will a new coach signal redemption for the Plains?
